Skye Callantine – Chairman
Skye founded Felix Energy in 2013 and serves as the company's President and Chief Executive
Officer. Under his leadership, Felix has built and sold over $2.5 billion of assets consisting of
upstream projects, midstream assets and mineral interests. In addition, Felix has built and
currently operates a significant position in the Delaware Basin. Prior to founding Felix Energy,
Skye worked for Chesapeake Energy, where he led the building of large-scale projects in the
Eagle Ford Shale, Haynesville Shale, East Texas and conventional Gulf Coast gas assets. Skye
started his career with ConocoPhillips and served in numerous technical and leadership roles in
exploration and production in North America, South America and Asia.
Skye served in the United States Air Force. He received a Bachelor of Science in geophysical
engineering from Montana Tech and an MBA from Oklahoma State University.
Chris Transier – President and Chief Executive Officer
Chris serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Fortis Minerals, which he co-founded in 2016. Prior to Fortis Chris served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Escondido Resources, a South Texas oil and gas company with operated production from the Escondido and Eagle Ford formations. Prior to Escondido Chris was a Vice President at First Reserve, the largest private equity firm focused exclusively on energy, where Chris worked on several investments across the energy value chain. Chris started his career with UBS Investment Bank as an analyst in the Global Energy Group
Chris received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia where he was a Rodman Scholar.
Freddie Barela – Executive Vice President, Business Development and Land
Freddie Barela serves as Executive Vice President of Business Development and Land for Fortis Minerals. Mr. Barela has a distinguished track record of leading numerous growth projects in the Permian Basin, Anadarko Basin, Bakken, Eagle Ford and Niobrara plays. Prior to Fortis, he served as Partner at Canaan Resource Partners where he closed numerous non-operated deals across several basins. Freddie began his career with Chesapeake Energy as a Landman in the Permian Basin Division. He subsequently led Chesapeake’s Rockies Division Land function through a rapid growth phase, including substantial leasing and acquisitions.
Freddie was born and raised in Midland, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Management with an emphasis on Energy Commerce. He also holds an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University. Freddie Barela currently serves on the Advisory Council for the North Side YMCA in Oklahoma City.
Brad Wright – Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Brad Wright joined as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in May 2019. Prior to joining us, Mr. Wright served as a Managing Director – M&A and Strategic Planning at Plains All American Pipeline, one of the largest crude oil midstream companies in North America. Prior to joining Plains All American, Mr. Wright worked in investment banking at Barclays Capital and Petrie Parkman, where he advised upstream and midstream clients on M&A and capital markets matters.
Brad received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas. He also received his Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas.
W. Scott Dole – Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer
Scott has more than 30 years of accounting and financial management experience in the oil and gas industry. He has previously served as the Vice President of Accounting for Escondido Resources II, LLC and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Propel Energy, LLC, both private equity backed exploration and production companies. Prior to that he owned and operated his own accounting practice for 22 years providing oil and gas due diligence and accounting outsourcing services.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Houston, and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.
Ashley Yates – Executive Vice President and General Counsel
Ashley Yates joined Fortis Minerals as General Counsel in April 2018. Prior to joining Fortis, Ashley served as Deputy General Counsel of Rice Energy Inc., a natural gas company engaged in the exploration and development of properties in the Appalachian Basin, and Rice Midstream Partners LP, a provider of natural gas gathering, compression, and water services in the Marcellus and Utica Shales. Prior to Rice Energy, Ashley practiced corporate law at Vinson & Elkins L.L.P., representing public and private companies in capital markets offerings and mergers and acquisitions, primarily in the oil and natural gas industry.
Ashley holds a BS in Economics and Political Science from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School.
Patrick Hesseler – Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy
Patrick Hesseler joined Fortis Minerals, LLC as Vice President in June of 2016. Prior to joining Fortis Minerals, Mr. Hesseler worked in KKR’s real asset strategy focused on energy & infrastructure. Before that, he worked at Credit Suisse in support of its global oil & gas coverage team.
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Bart Borej – Vice President, Engineering
Bart joined Fortis in July of 2016 and currently leads the technical team as Vice President of Engineering. Previously, Mr. Borej was Senior Technologist at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co where he focused on Upstream M&A. Prior to TPH, Bart worked as a Reservoir Analyst with Newfield Exploration focused on the Eagle Ford asset team.
Bart holds a BA in Mathematics and a BA in Physics from Lawrence University, and he also holds an MS in Applied Mathematics with a specialization in Computational Finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Michelle Massaro – Vice President, Finance
Michelle Massaro has served as our Vice President of Finance since May 2019. She served as our Director of Finance from April 2017 to May 2019, prior to which she was an Associate in the energy investment banking group at Raymond James and also held various roles focusing on mergers and acquisitions in the energy industry, including as an analyst at Evercore Partners Inc. and an Associate in the valuation practice at KPMG.
Ms. Massaro holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mike Ostrow – Vice President, Accounting
Mike Ostrow has served as our Vice President of Accounting since May 2019 and previously served as our Controller from June 2016 to May 2019. Prior to joining us, Mr. Ostrow served in various roles, including Manager Financial Reporting – International Ventures at Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas (formerly Plains Exploration & Production Company) where he focused on supporting accounting and financial reporting efforts both for various international projects and subsidiaries as well as for public registrants. Before that, Mr. Ostrow served in Ernst & Young LLP’s audit and assurance services practice focusing on large public upstream and midstream energy companies.
Mr. Ostrow holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master in Professional Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin and is also an affiliate alumnus of the MIT Sloan School of Management. Mr. Ostrow is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Texas and Colorado.
Jon Goss – Mid-Con Land Manager
Jon joined Fortis in May of 2016. Prior to joining Fortis Minerals, Jon worked for Felix Energy, LLC, focusing on leasehold and development for their STACK asset. Jon began his career at Linn Energy and Dominion Exploration and later transitioned into a Landman role at Sandridge Energy.
Jon holds a BBA in Energy Management from the University of Oklahoma.
Dane Maxwell – Permian Land Manager
Dane joined Fortis in July of 2016 after leading the Land team for Chevron’s Delaware Basin Asset Development Group, managing over 1.5MM net acres in the Delaware Basin. Dane has extensive experience in the Permian, including Texas and New Mexico Delaware Basin, and the Midland Basin. Prior to Chevron, Dane began his career at Chesapeake Energy as a Landman in the Permian Basin.
Dane holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis on Petroleum Land Management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
